| The Vote - 22 June 2009 |
Thank you to all that voted recently and for your very constructive comments. It was clearly not a topic that could be answered with a simple yes or no.
Many of the comments related not just to juniors but to beginners too and we will need to look at this issue in depth and see how we can help everyone to progress equally without feeling that they are being limited by those with lesser skills.
It is unlikely that we will get a committee meeting until the end of the summer but with all the positive idea’s from our members I am sure we can soon establish new club policy that will benefit all. Have a great summer. Paul Reed |

| Castlefin 2009 - 28 Feb 2009 |
Although this is the third time the event has been run, it is the first year as a an ICU Marathon Ranking race. We had a great turnout with 73 paddlers competing in 69 boats. There were the 15 K1's led by Malcolm Banks and one K2 piloted by Jim Morrisey and Kevin Pearse. A special thanks to the Harron family for the huge part that they always play in hosting the event. |

| Liam Emery Auction - 7 Nov 2008 |
It's 8.30pm Friday night and the Silver Tassie hotel has never been so busy, with hardly a carpark space left. This is the fund raising auction for Liam Emery who remains in hospital |
 |
after he lost consciousness during the Liffey Descent race, on September 13th.
Lead by Liam and Norma's neighbours the local community pulled out all the stops and raised €26,000 at the auction. Combined with the generous contributions of Liam's employers and colleagues from Coillte the rehabilitation fund now stands at an amazing €42,000 |

Ken Moore founder member, loves to sea kayak around the Donegal coastline, in fact if you ask him about it he'll amost certainly say, "Aye, it's hard to beat". In the early days of the club he took a trip down the River Finn and got caught in big stopper half way down. According to unreliable eye witness's he went round and round like he was in a washing machine getting his gear ripped off in the process. From that day forth the feature has been known as Ken's Hole! |

Palouse Falls - Tyler Bradt
On April 21, 2009 in Eastern Washington, Tyler Bradt paddled over 186 ft. tall Palouse Falls, shattering the waterfall world-record he had previously set. This is a stunning piece well shot and with very emotive music. |
