Lower Liffey Race - 31 August 2008
A great turn out for the Kerrygold Lower Liffey Race this year by DCC members. With a 3rd place Dean Harron (13) is now top of the DCC Challange Cup over taking old timers Ken Moore and Brian Murray.

Ken and Brian came in 7th in the K2/T2 class being beaten by new partnership Andy Harron and Patrick Woods who finished in 6th place. Denis Gallagher and Edward Broekaart had a tight race too with Denis finally beating Edward to finish 10th and 11th respectively in Division 4.

Best achievement for the DCC however was Rachel Bourne who beat stiff local competition to finish 2nd in the Ladies GP class.

Lennon Festival - 5 July 2008
Despite poor weather this years Lennon Festival was a great success for Ramelton.
The DCC ran its Duck Race raising much needed funds for the club which mainly go towards introducing new people to the sport. Hundreds of ducks were dropped from Ramelton bridge and raced towards the slipway for cash prizes.

Beam me up Davey..
Davey "McNuggets" Leonard when Captain Kirk needs to go to Warp Factor 6 it's a wee Scotsman he always turns to for help. Look in the engine room of the Donegal Canoe Club and you'll find our very own "Scottie" running boats and gear around the county and making sure you have something to paddle. Seen here carving up the Roe at the brick wall wave in his Riot Sniper.

Learning to Roll on You Tube
No you can't take the laptop into the pool but you can begin to teach yourself the roll by sitting on the floor at home with your paddle or even a yard brush and practice the body movements. Next time you go to the pool your mind and body will be pre-programmed and ready to learn to roll...just don't let anyone catch you doing it!
