About Us |
The Donegal Canoe Club began in 1997 by three friends Roisin Kerr, Linda Kiernan and Ken Moore. Interest quickly grew and the club has enjoyed great success during it's first 10 years.

| Wednesday Evening Paddles |
April – September
Once the clocks go forward and the lighter evenings are here we paddle outside. We meet up at 6pm in Letterkenny. Where we go from here will depend mainly on the weather and the ability of those who turn up to paddle. This could be a flatwater location like Loch Gartan, Mulroy Bay or the Swilly. If the surf is up we may go to Fannad, Rosnowlough or Ballyliffin. If it has been raining and the river levels are up we will run a river. After paddling we will go to a pub for a pint and a bit of craic.
September – April
During these months we go into the swimming pool where we work on learning to roll and work on paddles strokes and rescue techniques. Usually we will also get in a few games of kayak polo too.

| Club Paddles |
We have a club paddle nearly every month, this could be a day out sea paddling, a weekend away camping, the Liffey Descent in Dublin, or staying in youth hostel somewhere to run a few rivers.
|
| Peer Paddles |
Several of our members will organise days out running rivers or sea paddling. These days tend to me more challenging and aimed at those that have the abilily rather than all members of the club.
|
| Fund Raising |
Like all clubs we have to raise money to pay for storage, equipment, pool fees and other overheads. We always try to make fundraising as much fun as possible.
