Donegal Canoe Club Challenge Cup

The DCC Challenge Cup is a league for Donegal Canoe Club members to compete against one another. We record members attendance and place in any competition and award points. At the end of the year a trophy and prize will be presented at the Christmas party. It doesn't matter what class you enter for or even what competition as long as it is a paddling event. So for example it could be a Surfing, Playboating or Slalom competition not just a race. It will be a single award and the points scoring system should allow juniors to compete against seniors and females against males all with a more than fair chance of winning!

Points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class for the competition. Points will also be awarded for the first 10 places within the DCC for the event. Points will also be given just for turning up and competing.

For example, getting a 3rd place in your class in a race will earn you 6 points. If you are the only DCC member to enter for that class you will therefore be 1st in class within the DCC and will earn an additional 10 points. A further 2 points will be awarded for competing. Therefore a total of 18 points will be recorded. Obviously there is some room for strategy here, so be warned!

Points Scoring System

Competition Completion - 2 points
Competition Class Placement - 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 8 points, 3rd = 6 points
DCC Class Placement - 1st = 10 points through to 10th = 1 point
